I’m not a black Friday kind of girl. Don’t get me wrong I love a good deal, I can do serious damage at a Target but as someone who shops for a living I would have to be PAID to go on some crazy line with crowds. The thing with these big sales I end up buying what I don’t need instead of…
You may have noticed that I am not posting on Chicster as much. I am doing most if not all my posting on the parent blog (based in williamsburg, Brooklyn) that my blog partner Jessica and I work on. Check it out here.
Also I’m not toatlly out of the Style loop, I pin constantly and take all my fashion love out on my boards. Check them out here!
Yes- because I think you have so much time on your hands I saw this post on Prudent Baby that the talented Cakies designed and couldn’t resist sharing. Here is the template for the Witches hat and the Cat, Sunshine and Dragon. For full instructions click here to Prudent Baby.

I will never tire of first birthday parties or kids parties in general. There is something so sweet about celebrating the first years. This cake is from Martha Stewart’s granddaughter’s first year birthday. My first thought when I saw only the first photo was wow so simple for Martha but then I saw the rest of the pics, lol. Very posh for a first b-day yet lovely especially when celebrating with adults.

RIIKKA SORMUNEN HAS WON IMAGE MAGAZINE’S ILLUSTRATION COMPETITION
Finnish magazine “Image” organized a competition for it’s readers to vote for the best illustration from 10 nominees. The winner was announced this week: we are so happy to tell that Riikka Sormunen’s beautiful illustration won the competition with one fifth of all votes! Well done Riikka!
I am on the hunt for an affordable toddler bed. Our current one has fallen apart which is a bit ironic since I can never get my son to sleep on it. I don’t want to spend much on this bed since we’ll move to a larger frame soon since my son is so tall. My two favorite DIY’s our from Apartment Therapy (top photo) and Design Mom (bottom), Design Mom being my favorite simply because I feel that the mattress could be a twin mattress and also work as a daybed which works for the cuddle bugs we tend to be. The best part is $20(with some preexisting lumber) was the budget for the Apartment Therapy DIY and $75 for both toddler beds from Design Mom. Love good DIY finds!
As I start to organize and wrap my head around C returning to school I am entering into lunch, after school and all thing school territory. This month you’ll see MB’s picks on backpacks, lunch boxes/ containers. Expect to see this week a section dedicated to past posts dedicated to easy recipes.
One of my lunch inspiration is The Lunch Tray, Houston mom Bettina focuses on her community and updates her readers on school news , lunch recipes. I may not live in Houston however I find her blog helpful as a mom in the beginnings of navigating school life. Check out The Lunch Tray’s recipe index here.
